Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer with expertise in rotating equipment to join our Energy team, based out of Calgary, AB. As a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing datasheets, specifications, and material requisitions, while making critical equipment recommendations and selections. You will collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines, suppliers, and clients to ensure design excellence and project success.
Your in-depth knowledge of rotating equipment, combined with a strong understanding of industry standards, will be essential in driving innovation and maintaining high-quality outcomes. Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Prepare mechanical engineering deliverables datasheets, specifications, and material requisitions
- Make rotating equipment recommendations and selections
- Lead design development with other engineering disciplines
- Lead design reviews with Suppliers and Clients
- Well-versed in all engineering department procedures and their application to project execution
- Knowledge of design standards and guides applicable to the discipline for the respective clients; and
- Participate in and fosters a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- A recognized mechanical or materials engineering degree from an accredited university and registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta
- Minimum 15 years of relevant EPC Mechanical Engineering experience in the Energy sector, 5 years in a Subject Matter Expert role
- Experience in manufacturing, reliability or plant operation considered an asset
- Experience with Rotating Equipment including pumps, compressors, steam and gas turbines
- Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes and standards such as ASME, API, Hydraulic Institute etc.
- Willing and able to occasionally travel to operating plants or manufacturer's shops for field reviews, acceptance testing, etc.; and
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
