Job Title: Flight Operations Dispatcher

Western Community College invites applications for the role ofDispatcherat the WCC Flight School.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all dispatch duties in compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and company procedures.
  • Coordinate flight authorizations and aircraft releases in collaboration with flight instructors and students.
  • Monitor and track aircraft during flight operations (flight following) to ensure safety and adherence to schedules.
  • Use Flight Schedule Pro software to schedule, manage, and track flight bookings and operational activities.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, instructors, and visitors both in-person and through email and phone inquiries.
  • Process student invoices and payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional front desk environment, including greeting walk-in customers and addressing their queries.
  • Manage dispatch documentation, manuals, and ensure regular updates as required.
  • Maintain adequate stock of office supplies and ensure the front desk and lounge areas are clean and presentable.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and projects as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor and Head of Aviation Training.
  • Proactively communicate any irregularities, safety concerns, or operational delays to the appropriate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior aviation experience is required, preferably in flight dispatching or flight operations.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong numerical literacy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with experience in creating spreadsheets, charts, and conditional formatting.
  • Experience with Flight Schedule Pro or similar scheduling software is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
