Desired Results of the Position:

• Accurate records and time keeping for Varsity Basketball and Volleyball games.

Nature and Scope

Reporting to the Facility and Equipment Coordinator, these positions are responsible for the minor official duties required at the scorers table to record game information.

Job Duties

• Statistician - Records player statistics electronically for the home and visiting team.
• Spotter - Assists the Statistician to ensure that all stats recorded accurately and correctly.
• Game Sheet Official - Completes the game sheet correctly, accurately and legibly.
• Score Clock Operator - Maintains the time keeping and updates the score during a game.
• Shot Clock Operator - Operates the 24/14 second shot clock during basketball games.
• Player Board Operator - Records player substitutions, displays player stats for varsity events.
• Alternate - Trains in all positions in order to fill in as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to sit for two games back to back, approximately 4-5 hours.
• Available to work all home games on the weekends (afternoon and evening games).
• Familiar knowledge of basketball and volleyball.
• Focused and attentive with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to make quick decisions and use good judgement so as not to interfere in a game.
• Responsible, punctual and mature.

Compensation

• $35.00 per game
