Location: NW Edmonton

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, 1 hour for lunch

Compensation: $72,000 - 84,000

Overview:

Our client, an industrial services company in northwest Edmonton, is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their team on a 14-month contract. This is an operational accounting position, with lots of mentorship and opportunities for professional development.Duties include:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including various schedules, accruals, and journal entries accurately and on time
• Perform monthly account reconciliations on a timely basis (e.g., bank & intercompany reconciliations, Fixed Asset & Capital Lease schedules etc)
• Prepare and file GST and PST returns
• Process a biweekly payroll for 25 to 30 employees
• Support and mentor AR-AP Accounting Assistant
• Provide detailed analysis as required on specific issues / projects when required
• Other duties as assigned from time to time

Must Have Qualifications:

• 4+ years of operational accounting experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient with MS Excel, and able to use formulas, pivot tables, & VLOOKUPS

Like To Have Qualifications:

• CPA Designation
• Experience using Sage50 and Dayforce / Ceridian
