Your role:

• Safely transport "the most precious cargo" — students — to and from school
• Ensure the safety of students while they board and exit the bus
• Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee the bus is in safe operating condition
• Assist in fueling and maintaining the bus's cleanliness to ensure a well-kept and reliable vehicle
• Participate in ongoing training and development

Requirements

Your profile

• You are safety-focused. You're focused, alert, and make smart decisions on the road.
• You hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license, preference will be given to E and B class drivers
• You are 21 years of age or over
• You are a safe driver with a clean driving record.
• You can obtain a clean criminal record search and vulnerable sector screening. The ability to pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check are must-haves
• You have intermediate to advanced English language skills (B1 to C2)
• You have a sound knowledge of St. Thomas Region and surrounding areas. You know your way around St. Thomas and surrounding areas like the back of your hand!
• You are comfortable working in a union
• You have the ability to work independently. You show up, step up, and get the job done!
• You are comfortable driving medium and large large vehicles. You're comfortable driving more than just mini-vans. Wheel chair and mini yellow buses are fun to drive to!

• You can commit to split shifts: Monday to Friday, typically from 6:00 AM to 9:15 AM and 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM (exact times vary by route)

• Big Yellow, Mini-Yellow, or Wheelchair-Accessible Routes – $21.00/hour
• Minivan Routes – $20.15/hour
• Base Rate (for time spent working but not driving a route) – $19.00/hour
• Got a driveway with some extra space? You might be able to take your bus home!
• No space? No problem. We have multiple park-out locations so your ride is never too far away!
