Key Responsibilities:

• Use lutes, rakes, and other hand tools to spread and level asphalt material.
• Ensure proper depth, grade, and finish of asphalt prior to compaction.
• Assist the paver operator by smoothing joints and edges, and correcting imperfections in the mat.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain consistent workflow and surface quality.
• Perform handwork in tight or hard-to-reach areas that machines cannot access.
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain tools and equipment in clean and functional condition.
• Assist with general site cleanup and other labor duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in asphalt paving or related construction work preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools used in paving, including asphalt lutes and rakes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction precisely.
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding outdoor conditions.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion.
• Work in various outdoor conditions, including heat and noise.

• Consistent seasonal work with the potential for overtime
