Job Description

Design & Development

  • Design, specify, test, validate, and release Propulsion Systems components for assigned vehicle families.
  • Design components using NX software (2D & 3D).
  • Develop parts in collaboration with suppliers following the “Source Package” process.
  • Create and evaluate requests for functional testing of components in assembly plants prior to production (Production Evaluation Request).
  • Request prototype parts to address warranty concerns.

Testing & Validation

  • Request and authorize validation testing to ensure compliance with design requirements (DVP&R).
  • Review and process component changes from suppliers, including associated documentation and test plans.
  • Coordinate and review DFMEA and PFMEA with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Verify product manufacturing processes before mass production release.
  • Release temporary approvals for parts under validation (Interim Approval Authorization).
  • Request and obtain concurrencies for validations and both temporary and permanent deviations.

Failure Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Analyze and resolve component-related functional and durability failures (including GIMS support).
  • Investigate and address part-related failures, including root cause analysis.
  • Propose, validate, and implement cost reduction initiatives.

Documentation & Process Control

  • Process and document engineering changes and modifications (Change Notices).
  • Approve or reject documents related to Temporary Substitution requests in Assembly Plants.
  • Create and update DFMEA documents and Engineering Change documentation.
  • Create and approve Tool Kick-Off (TKO) requests for production parts.

Cross-functional Support

  • Provide support to the Service Team in developing:

    • Technical Service Bulletins

    • Tech Master Videos

    • GPOP responses

    • Star Online Publications

    • Updated service procedures

  • Support Assembly Plants in applying specification changes and understanding engineering changes.
  • Assist in Pilot and Pre-Series events in Assembly Plants.
  • Standardize and benchmark components for performance, weight, and cost efficiency.

Information Management

  • Gather and manage data related to:

    • Product changes and implementation timing

    • Service and recall bulletins

    • Product engineering standards

    • Bill of Materials

    • Engineering graphs

Qualifications

Design Experience in the Following Components:

  • Internal Combustion Engine / Electric Motor / Power Electronics accessories' components.
  • Support Brackets for Electronic Modules.
  • Internal and surrounding components from Internal Combustion Engine.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Electro-mechanical, etc.).
  • Previous experience: Preferably 1-3 years in the automotive industry as a Product Engineer or product development-related position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Solid knowledge in automotive vehicles and systems, assembly and manufacturing, part validation, and automotive systems.
  • Knowledge in Internal Combustion Engines, thermodynamics, and statistics; testing, validation, and failure solving in the Automotive Industry or similar.
  • Good communication skills and experience in basic software suites (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab, etc.).
  • Computer-design software skill in NX and/or CATIA.
  • Proactive, analytical, inquiring attitude; synthesis capability, team player.
  • Disciplined and planning capacity.

Optional:

  • DFSS Green Belt/Black Belt certified.
  • Reactive Green/Black Belt certified.
