Our client is in the Energy sector and is in search of an ERP Project Implementation Accountant to join them on a short term 4 week contract assignment. There is a high possibility that the contract will extend to 8 weeks. The role is hybrid working 3 days a week in office and 2 days work from home.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role will leverage strong technical accounting knowledge and proven ERP implementation experience to support their new ERP system rollout. This role will strictly focus on ERP implementation project and will not involve the day-day operational accounting duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or actively assist in the configuration, testing, and validation of financial modules within the new ERP System
• Support the data migration efforts, ensuring accuracy, integrity and completeness of financial data transferred to the new ERP
• Perform detailed reconciliation and validation of financial data post-migration to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborate closely with IT, finance teams and other stakeholders to troubleshoot system issues, optimize ERP financial functionalities and ensure seamless integration
• Develop and document new processes and internal controls related to financial operations within the implemented ERP environment
• Provide technical guidance and insights as they pertain to ERP system set up, financial reporting and compliance ie IFRS, US GAAP, Canadian GAAP and PCAOB
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for financial processes to ensure the system meets business requirements

TMGCT

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a similar field
• Completed or pursuing CPA Designation
• Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible financial roles, Energy sector an asset
• Proven ERP system implementation experience is a MUST
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP, Canadian GAAP, Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) standards, and IFRS
• Experience with MS Dynamics 365 ERP is a huge asset
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• External auditor relationship experience is an assest
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
