Job Summary:

We are seeking reliable, skilled, and safety-conscious Industrial Labourers to join our team. You will be responsible for supporting skilled tradespeople on various industrial construction projects by performing tasks that require physical labor, operating hand and power tools, and ensuring all work meets high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist skilled trades (carpenters, masons, operators) with their duties.

2. Assist with the fabrication, erection, and stripping of concrete forms, bracing, and shoring.

3. Help with placing and tying rebar.

4. Assist with concrete placement, consolidation, and finishing processes.

5. Perform general site duties including cleanup, housekeeping, excavations, material handling, and tool maintenance.

6. Operate hand tools, power tools, plate tampers, and jackhammers as directed.

7. Actively participate in all safety meetings (toolbox talks, hazard assessments) and strictly adhere to all safety procedures and site requirements.

8. Ensure quality in all tasks and support the team in maintaining project standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a skilled labourer on industrial or heavy commercial construction sites.

2. Experience supporting concrete formwork is a significant asset.

3. Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings is an asset.

4. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment common to concrete and civil construction.

5. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform strenuous labor, and work in various field conditions.

6. A strong commitment to safety and a proven track record of working safely.

7. Reliable, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

8. Good communication skills.

Required Certification:

The following certifications are considered strong assets and may be required for site access:zStandard First Aid

• 1. Construction Safety Training System (CSTS-2020) or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)

  2. WHMIS 2015

  3. Ground Disturbance Level II

  4. Fall Protection

  5. Aerial Work Platform (AWP)

  6. Confined Space Entry & Monitor

  7. H2S Alive

Work Conditions:

1. Standard work week is typically 44 hours, but schedules may vary by project (e.g., compressed work weeks like 4x10s). Overtime paid as per Alberta Employment Standards.

2. Physically demanding role requiring climbing, lifting, kneeling, balancing, walking, stooping, and crouching.

3. Work occurs outdoors in various weather conditions.

4. Accommodations may be provided (e.g., camp lodging, hotel, or RV with food allowance depending on site).

5. Must be able to meet all client site access requirements, which may include pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
