Location: Downtown Vancouver (Fully In-Office)

Hourly Rate: $30 - $35 per hour

THE ROLE

STRIVE is partnered with a Not-For-Profit organization as they seek to hire a Intermediate Bookkeeper for a 3 months contract assignment, with possibility of extension. The client is currently going through their audit and require a bookkeeper to support the finance function by handling the AR, AP, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, tax returns, and other bookkeeping services. The client is a community-focused organization that prides itself on fostering strong community connections and delivering exceptional service. The Bookkeeper will be joining a very welcoming team that focuses on working cohesively and collaboratively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage high volumes of Accounts Payable
  • Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Post journal entries and reconcile rent & credit cards.
  • Prepare the trial balance of books and maintain general ledgers.
  • Calculate and assisting in preparing cheques for payrolls and for utility, tax, and other bills.
  • Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
  • Prepare tax returns and perform other personal bookkeeping services.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience 2 years+ as a bookkeeper/ accounting clerk/ junior accountant.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
