About Career Colleges Ontario

Career Colleges Ontario (CCO) is a non-profit organization advocating for equitable treatment of career college students and a level playing field for its member institutions. With more than 260 member campuses across the province, CCO represents a diverse group of colleges producing highly skilled graduates in Applied Arts, Business, Healthcare, Human Services, Information Technology, Services, and Trades.

In addition to advocacy, CCO operates a Financial Aid Office in partnership with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and manages a Ministry-approved student transcript storage service through its proprietary STEPS platform.

Overview:

The Student Financial Aid Administrator plays an important role in the processing of financial aid records for post‐secondary students within the private career college sector. The Financial Aid Office is a student post‐secondary education loan and grants processing center. As part of the team, this position contributes to the important services provided to the members of Career Colleges Ontario. Reporting to the Financial Aid Office Manager, the Student Financial Aid Administrator is primarily responsible for the review, approval, and processing of financial aid applications for students.

Key Responsibilities:

· Review student applications;

· Verify information and documentation;

· Verify applications against policy requirements;

· Liaise with member career college financial aid teams;

· Resolve tier‐1 issues with applications and documentation;

· Respond to student inquires;

· Process applications; and

· Maintain and upload files.

The successful candidate will be hands‐on, customer‐focused and collaborative. This effective team player is detailed, takes initiative, is inquisitive, and is able to handle matters with discretion, with the ability to keep organized in a high‐pace work environment. Other qualifications include:

· Minimum 2 years relevant work experience;

· Strong written and verbal communications skills;

· Strong organizational skills;

· Strong problem‐solving skills;

· Demonstrated customer service skills;

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite;

· Ability to work independently and within a team;

· Experience in a regulated policy environment is an asset;

· Bilingual in English and French is an asset; and

· Post‐secondary education sector knowledge is an asset.

*This position is based in the Brantford head office and requires on-site presence two to three days per week, more perhaps during training*
