The Technical Business Development Analyst - Hydrogen position is an exciting opportunity to shape the frontier of the energy transition in Ontario. Working with the entire Hydrogen team, and supporting other exciting development opportunities at Atura Power, the successful candidate for this new role will combine business acumen with technical expertise to drive identify and advance new project growth opportunities and improve business operations at Atura Power.
JOB OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Development Hydrogen, the Technical Business Development Analyst is responsible for the supporting the identification, assessment, and execution of hydrogen business development activities and technical due diligence for Atura Power.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Understand the green and low-carbon hydrogen markets, value chains, hydrogen hubs and government policy and incentive schemes
- Develop and implement plans to ensure early engagement in target hydrogen opportunities
- Support technical due diligence on strategic growth opportunities including feasibility studies, FEED Studies, technology market scans and evaluations, supporting technology decisions for future project growth
- Provide critical technical input to support financial modeling and analysis of project opportunities and new facilities
- Review and understand new technology opportunities (i.e., electrolyzers) in hydrogen market
- Make independent decisions and communicate recommendations to management and other parties in a way that fosters consensus and facilitates efficient outcomes
- Support lead identification, customer relationship management, supporting negotiations and deal closure
- Preparation of government funding applications and proposals
- Key duties include: financial and technical analysis, deal analysis, conducting research, interpreting, and reporting on market and target company findings, making recommendations consistent with the companys growth objectives and strategy, and maintaining records
- This role will be focused on developing the nascent hydrogen market in Ontario however could expand to support different technologies including new gas, BESS, and renewable technologies
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- University Degree in Finance, Business, Chemical Engineering or Economics is required; and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), is considered an asset
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hydrogen business development (or similar market), clean energy business development, or financial modeling
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of PC-based computer systems and software applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and is team player with strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once while prioritizing to meet deadlines
- Experience in building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with clients and partner relationships
- Experience in advanced financial modeling of new project opportunities
- Understanding of electrolyzer market and technologies is an asset
- Understanding of hydrogen market and value chain is an asset
