Supreme Steel is currently looking for just that! We are seeking a motivated and highly efficient individual to join our team in the full-time position of Director of Business Intelligence & Technology Modernization at our Saskatoon SK office. This role will begin as a 12-month engagement with a strong potential to transition into a permanent leadership position based on performance and organizational needs. This is an office-based role with periodic travel to other facilities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead optimization of our enterprise resource planning systems (including integrations and workflows), streamlining processes to maximize efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Drive adoption of advanced artificial intelligence tools and software across the business, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Standardize reporting and business intelligence practices across departments, ensuring consistent, insightful data for decision making.
  • Oversee and develop internal technology training and change management initiatives to embed new capabilities and ensure sustained adoption.
  • Support shop-floor technologies, including robotics, internet-connected equipment, and other automation initiatives, to enhance production capabilities.

Experience, Skills & Education:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration, or a related field; a Master of Business Administration or other masters degree is considered an asset.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum ten or more years of progressive leadership experience in business intelligence, enterprise resource planning system optimization, or broad technology modernization ideally within manufacturing, construction, or other industrial environments.
  • Enterprise Systems Expertise: Proven success leading enterprise-wide enterprise resource planning system implementations and integrations (for example Sage 300, Oracle solutions, Microsoft Dynamics applications, Industrial and Financial Systems software, or similar platforms), including workflow optimization and data governance.
  • Data Analytics: Deep knowledge of data warehousing, extract-transform-load processes, and modern business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (Power BI), Tableau, or Qlik, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Automation Technologies: Hands-on experience deploying artificial intelligence and machine-learning solutions, robotic process automation, or predictive analytics to deliver operational efficiencies and competitive advantage.
  • Shop-Floor Technologies: Familiarity with robotics, connected-device technologies (sometimes referred to as the internet of things), and other automation technologies used in fabrication and production settings.
  • Change Management: Demonstrated ability to lead organization-wide change; formal certification in change-management methodologies is an asset.
  • Project & Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and project-management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Accounting & Financial Acumen: Working knowledge of core accounting principles general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory costing and experience integrating operational systems with financial modules to ensure end-to-end data integrity.
  • Additional Assets: Experience with major cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, cybersecurity best practices, and the software development life-cycle.
