Job Description – Metal FINISHER
· Applying protective coatings to surfaces made of metals
· Before being completed, pieces are examined to make sure they are free of flaws or damage
· Metals are polished, buffed, and sanded to provide a smooth surface finish.
· Using wire brushes or grinders, remove painted, rusted, or other surface impurities from metal parts
· Putting protective coatings on metal surfaces
- Hands-On Finishing: Perform metal finishing duties, such as painting, chasing, surface prep, patina, and polishing.
- Administration: Maintain the materials and consumables inventory, manage the sample process, and other duties related to departmental efficiency.
- Production Management: Work with the Shop Manager to ensure deadlines are met and clients' expectations are exceeded.
- Artfully apply patinas to a range of metal pieces, including steel, stainless steel, brass, and bronze.
- Collaborate with the team to achieve desired finishes and effects.
- Experiment with new techniques and finishes to meet evolving design trends.
- Maintain a safe and organized work area.
