We are actively seeking Control Room Operators to join our Operations team within our Lloydminster Thermal division at our brand-new Meota Central facility.. As the CRO, you will operate the DCS system to ensure the safe, efficient operation of the plant, optimizing production and maintaining processes within specification. This role also includes mentoring and developing shift team members, driving improvements to work routines, and upholding the highest standards of safety, performance, and product quality.
Essential Functions:
Ensure compliance with company's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and regulatory requirements, promoting a strong safety culture.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize plant operations while maintaining accurate documentation, permits, and safety inspections.
Communicate effectively across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and HSER teams to ensure safe, efficient plant performance.
Provide leadership during emergencies, direct maintenance activities, and participate in ERP drills.
Coach, train, and develop team members, fostering a professional, collaborative work environment.
Review and improve operational procedures, address deficiencies, and recommend process improvements.
Support incident reporting, hazard identification, and compliance with HSE participation goals.
Demonstrate flexibility by training across all plant operating roles and continuing to develop skills and competencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years SAGD operating experience, including Steam Generation, Water Treatment, Oil Treating, De-Oiling, and Well Operations.
3rd Class TSASK Power Engineering Certificate required; Delta V DCS experience is an asset.
Knowledge of natural gas compressors, utilities, and ability to interpret facility drawings (P&IDs, H&M balances).
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and mechanical skills.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and a positive, open mindset.
Ability to manage projects beyond daily operations with flexible and innovative thinking.
Work Environment:
12-hour shifts on a 7-on / 7-off day/night rotation, including weekends, holidays, and additional shift coverage as needed.
Position based in a plant setting.
Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to the North Battleford area.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract required.
