Summary
The Manager of Finance oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization and supports strategic financial planning and reporting. This role ensures accurate financial management, compliance with funding and regulatory requirements, and effective stewardship of organizational resources. The Manager of Finance supervises finance staff, prepares financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, and plays a key role in supporting audits and funding submissions. The position works closely with program leadership and senior management to align financial practices with organizational goals and priorities.

Full-Time, with some required evenings and weekend availability. Working from home on an occasional or as-needed basis will be considered.
Location:
TriCities, SHARE locations (including New Westminster) and other meeting sites as required.

Job Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls and accounting policies in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards.
Audit, Compliance and Risk Management
- Coordinate annual financial audits and ensure audit readiness of all financial records.
- Ensure compliance with all funder reporting requirements, regulatory bodies, and internal policies.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership.
Grants and Contract Management
- Track revenue and expenditures related to grants and contracts.
- Support program staff with budget development for proposals and reporting on restricted funds.
- Ensure proper allocation of funding and adherence to restrictions and timelines.
Team Leadership and Supervision
- Supervise, mentor, and support finance staff, including bookkeepers and payroll administrator.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and strong customer service within the finance team.
- Lead the development and implementation of efficient financial systems and practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a finance liaison to other departments and support program managers in financial literacy and planning.
- Participate in cross-departmental projects and organizational initiatives requiring financial oversight.

Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
- CPA Designation in good standing with CPA BC.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the areas of financial management, charitable operations, and/or fundraising.
Required Skills
- Financial management and control methods, accounting principles, financial statement preparation and analysis, and human resource management knowledge is typically acquired through completion of a recognized professional accounting designation.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience building cohesive and high-performing teams.
Compensation:
- Salary starts at $ 95,000 per year.
