The Director of Warehouse and Distribution is responsible for daily operations of warehousing, logistics, inventory and customer service in the ZO Skin Health Canadian warehouse. They are tasked with overseeing the entire distribution process, optimizing productivity, reducing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. These duties include, but are not limited to, staffing, managing and guiding the warehouse teams; utilizing systems to meet internal and external customers' needs for timely and accurate deliveries; supervising the shipping and receiving of raw goods and inventory, knowledge of supporting 3PL warehousing, and understanding and monitoring inbound and outbound freight from the US into Canada. The Director of Warehouse and Distribution also promotes the collaboration between the Customer Service and Warehouse teams for servicing all levels of customers. This role interacts with sales, marketing and supply chain management on a global level, collaborating with multiple teams across the company to deliver quality customer experiences that result in increased sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of corporate Supply Chain leadership, develop and implement the warehouse and distribution strategy in alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of employees in their roles, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring quality service delivery.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the distribution center, including receiving, warehousing, order fulfillment, and inventory and customer service activities.
  • Optimize warehouse operations to maximize efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure on-time delivery of orders.
  • Monitor product import or export processes, rates and paperwork to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements; understand and advise on strategies to mitigate the impact of tariffs
  • Maintain and update processes regarding customs clearance, duties, and taxes, particularly as it relates to moving local parcel and freight coming from the US into Canada.
  • Observe, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to the warehouse and distribution, making data-driven decisions to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply principles of demand planning and sales forecasting to inform corporate and local leadership about product inventory and shipping schedules.
  • Serves as the official company designate and primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during audits and inspections.
  • Implement technologies, systems, and automation solutions to streamline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and quality control measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred or equivalent warehouse and/or distribution experience.
  • Proven experience (minimum 5-8 years) in warehouse and distribution operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial or directorial role.
  • Extensive knowledge of distribution center management, including experience utilizing best practices when working with a 3PL provider.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to drive decision making and process improvements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team, fostering collaboration and motivating employees to achieve operational goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels in and outside of the organization.
  • High proficiency in using systems when implementing process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and operational efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and quality control measures. Desire for continuous learning and adding to skillset and repertoire

Work Environment: The work environment is indoors, and the employee may be exposed to cool temperatures. There is moderate noise level in warehouse environments and floors may be concrete.

Work Schedule: Onsite – 5 days in ZO Skin Health Canada warehouse. 8 hours a day. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends. Must be available at all times and shifts to respond to emergencies as a first responder.

Physical and Mental Demands: Medium, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. This job also requires frequent standing and walking. Know and apply proper safety and shipping/receiving protocols for staging/transporting goods, follow and enforce standards of grooming, hygiene and dress code, including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance. Follow sequencing or order directions and apply knowledge of spatial relations product storage. Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office applications and use to generate reports and monitor labor activity. Apply advanced communication skills to lead and motivate employees to achieve department and organization objectives, measuring performance and fostering professional development.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees warehouse, inventory and customer service personnel.
