Who we are:

Financeit is a point-of-sale financing provider serving some of the largest home improvement and retail organizations in Canada.

Our platform helps businesses close more sales by offering customers affordable monthly payment options for their next big home improvement, vehicle or retail purchase.

We are small enough that you can make an impact within the company and large enough to make an impact in the market.

Financeit is a company where collaboration, inclusivity, fairness, and respect aren't just ideas that get talked about, but are part of who we are. If such a workplace intrigues you, we hope you'll join us.

About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Director, Insights & Strategy to elevate our data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving forward our strategic direction, identifying growth and efficiency opportunities, and ensuring that data-driven recommendations are at the heart of our decision-making processes. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader to shape the future of our business through advanced analytics and strategic thinking. This role offers high exposure to our executive team and the C-suite, requiring a superior level of communication and presentation skills.

If you are an experienced leader with a deep analytical mindset, and a proven track record of deriving strategic recommendations from data-driven insights, we invite you to apply.

What you'll do:

  • Be responsible for applying sophisticated data analysis techniques, including statistical modeling, predictive analytics and trend analysis, to extract meaningful strategic insights from diverse datasets. These insights will form the foundation for practical and impactful business recommendations that inform executive decisions and shape organizational strategy.
  • Excel at converting complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives and actionable strategies tailored for executive leadership and various cross-functional stakeholders. This involves not just presenting data, but articulating the "so what," the strategic implications, and the recommended path forward in a way that resonates and drives consensus.
  • Foster a data-driven culture across the organization. This includes continuously researching, adopting, and integrating new methodologies, cutting-edge tools, and industry best practices in data and analytics to elevate the effectiveness of strategic planning and execution.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, researchers, and program directors to offer expert data support and mentorship. This includes overseeing their deep-dive analysis, advanced predictive modeling, and strategic communication to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Define and establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and comprehensive measurement frameworks that offer crucial insights into performance trends and the effectiveness of strategic initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior leaders across critical functions such as Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Product. Your role will involve proactively understanding their strategic challenges, prioritizing their most pressing analytical needs, and delivering tailored, high-impact insights.
  • You'll proactively stay abreast of emerging trends, advancements, and disruptive technologies in data science, analytics, and business intelligence. This includes continuously evaluating and recommending new technologies, tools, and innovative approaches that can significantly enhance our strategic capabilities and maintain our analytical edge.

Requirements

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in a quantitative field such as Business, Economics, Analytics, or a related discipline. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, strategy, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven track record of translating complex data insights into clear, actionable business strategies that have driven significant organizational impact.
  • Experience in various analytical methodologies, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, segmentation, and A/B testing.
  • Strong proficiency with modern BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) and data manipulation languages (e.g., SQL).
  • A relentless drive for exceptional results and measurable impact. You're inherently proactive, ready to step up and go above and beyond when critical deadlines, complex challenges, or significant opportunities arise, ensuring objectives are not just met, but exceeded.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, capable of identifying key challenges and opportunities and developing data-driven solutions.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a passion for mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
