Are you a hands-on problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments? We're looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our growing team! This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex electrical systems, has strong troubleshooting skills, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems, including UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution units
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to reduce downtime and ensure client satisfaction
- Participate in a weekly rotation for a 24/7 emergency on-call service
- Coordinate with subcontractors during emergency service situations
- Oversee equipment start-up and commissioning
- Generate accurate Work Orders and Field Service Reports
- Organize and execute battery replacements
- Build and assemble power distribution cables
- Identify and recommend system upgrades and service opportunities
- Conduct routine generator inspections (weekly/monthly)
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Were looking for someone with:
- Completion of an Electronics Technician/Technologist program or equivalent
- 23 years of experience in electrical or electronics service (asset)
- Willingness to work overtime and share on-call responsibilities
- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of electrical systems
- Proven ability to resolve both routine and complex technical issues
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency with hand tools and electrical measurement instruments
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Valid Ontario drivers license (required)
