Job Description

The House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property (DSRP) is currently seeking to staff several Digital Product Strategist positions to lead strategic planning and execution within specific digital product lines.
The Digital Product Strategist ensures alignment with the enterprise strategy set by the Digital Enterprise Strategist and oversees the development of Digital Product Line Roadmaps, ensuring strategic traceability through their alignment with the broader DSRP Strategic Plan.

As a senior technology and strategy expert, the Digital Product Strategist operationalizes enterprise frameworks within product lines, focusing on stakeholder engagement and ensuring compliance with established IT standards. The role provides high-level advisory services on the execution of product-specific strategies, identifying and managing interdependencies, resource allocations, and solution development to optimize both product and architectural decisions.
The Digital Product Strategist is expected to effectively advise internal teams and business partners, ensuring that related technologies and roadmaps are aligned with industry best practices from both business and technology standpoints and compliant with the technology blueprint, strategies and policies at the House. You will consult with multiple vendors and manage contractual aspects of many different business applications used at the House of Commons.

Corporate Systems (CS) Stream:
The CS stream supports a variety of corporate functions, and this role requires extensive experience and understanding of ServiceNow based products such as: Automation Engine, IT Service management (ITSM), Customer Service Management (CSM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), IT Operations management (ITOM), Security Operations (SecOps) and other technologies used for case management solutions.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Stream:
The ERP stream primarily supports Finance and Human Resources functions. This role requires extensive experience and a deep understanding of the ERP domain from business, process and technology perspectives. The ERP stream manages and supports the core ERP system (Unit4), along with its related integrations and associated off-the-shelf and custom-built applications.

Qualifications

Education :

  • Successful completion of a college or university degree in Information Technology, System Engineering, Innovation Management, or another related field; or an acceptable combination of formal education, training, and/or experience in the relevant fields.

Experience :

  • Extensive experience in corporate or product strategy planning, product development, product management, or technical/digital consulting;
  • Extensive experience in determining actions and resources required to advance from vision to reality;
  • Experience preparing briefing material and presentations pertaining to technical topics and presenting to targeted audiences;
  • Experience identifying, developing, reviewing, and evolving best practices, standards, and promoting operating procedures and processes;
  • Experience managing vendor relationships, including acting as the primary point of contact for product escalations and coordination with external consultants and technical teams;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product lifecycle management, including overseeing product upgrades, changes, and roadmap development aligned with strategic business objectives;
  • Experience managing contractual elements related to business applications, including license renewals, fee structures, and vendor performance.

Assets :

  • Experience with product strategic planning, implementation, and management of ServiceNow, ITXM, ERP Solutions, UNIT4 and SAP Concur;
  • Experience with HR and Finance business processes, including the ability to bridge functional and technical needs, advise stakeholders, and provide informed guidance on requirements;
  • Experience with product lifecycle management of Cloud and SAAS solutions;
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services (e.g., Logic Apps, Services, API Management, etc.).
