About the Role
Dispatch
- Create and communicate a daily dispatch for Drivers that includes routes, client instructions, and SOPs.
- Assign Drivers, equipment and jobs.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs with the Shop.
- Respond to client concerns, Driver and equipment issues in a timely fashion.
- Communicate regularly with Wastewater Treatment Plants, monitor levels and coordinate haulage.
- Be the first point of contact for clients booking haulage.
- Work with Project Managers in Clean Out and Infrastructure to coordinate and schedule client emergency jobs.
- Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new Drivers.
- Lead onboarding of new Drivers, including training on Haulage standards, procedures and software.
- Manage the Driver team performance, including setting team and individual objectives, tracking and measuring results.
- Work with HR to address Driver performance issues and absenteeism.
About You
We're looking for an effective people manager and problem solver with some experience in a similar operational leadership role. Your skills and experience include:
- Demonstrated leadership and problem solving skills;
- 4-5 years experience in a dispatch role;
- Thorough understanding of MTO regulations;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Good computer skills and familiarity with a variety of software systems;
- Experience with e-Log systems an asset;
- Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and adapt to changes as needed;
- Proven ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work independently;
- Strong customer service experience/background.
