TreowGroup Inc., on behalf of our manufacturing client in Etobicoke, is seeking a hands-on Plastic Injection Operator / Mechanic to support the daily operation and maintenance of production equipment—specifically a newly installed plastic injection molding line, along with other packaging machinery (filling, labeling, capping, etc.).
This role is ideal for a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented individual who takes pride in keeping machines running smoothly, reducing downtime, and ensuring consistent product quality in a fast-paced production environment.
You will make your impact by:
  • Operating, monitoring, and supporting the daily function of plastic injection molding machines and related equipment.
  • Performing minor mechanical adjustments and troubleshooting basic equipment issues to ensure uptime.
  • Responding to alarms or process concerns and making real-time changes to improve cycle times and product quality.
  • Assisting with mold and machine changeovers, startups, and shutdowns.
  • Conducting routine checks on machine performance, identifying and addressing small repairs or mechanical wear.
  • Working closely with maintenance and production teams to escalate and resolve more complex issues.
  • Ensuring proper setup and documentation are followed during each run.
  • Maintaining clean, organized workstations and promoting safe work practices.

You are a great fit if you:
  • Have 2–5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining plastic injection molding or similar automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Hold a college certificate or diploma in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial programs such as Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Technician.
  • Have received on-the-job training in plastic injection molding or extrusion environments.
  • Bring solid mechanical aptitude and can confidently use hand tools for adjustments and light repairs.
  • Are familiar with production changeovers and troubleshooting and enjoy collaborating with maintenance teams.
  • Are physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a fast-moving, hands-on production environment.
  • Are flexible to work varied shifts or extended hours as needed to support production.

What our client offers:
  • Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications
  • Comprehensive health & dental benefits
  • RRSP matching program for long-term financial security
  • A team-oriented culture focused on collaboration, problem-solving, and continuous improvement
  • Strong support from leadership teams who value hands-on contributions
  • The chance to work with a diverse mix of technologies and equipment across a dynamic manufacturing operation
