Job Summary

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Construction Superintendent will be responsible for leading construction execution from project award to completion. The incumbent will review project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements to safely and efficiently lead on-site construction execution.

The incumbent will manage the full construction lifecycle, including contributing to preparation of construction schedules, bid clarifications, and document control. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of industrial construction processes. This individual brings proven experience working with various contract types (lump sum, unit rate, and cost-plus). Collaborates with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on scopes, deliverables, and contract terms. Managing change, maintaining accurate records, managing execution, safety, and quality are key aspects of this role.

The incumbent will conduct all activities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of Lynco Energy Services, as well as adherence to all established Policies and Procedures.

This full-time hourly position based in Lloydminster, AB and working on various client sites in Alberta & Saskatchewan. Work schedule will be based on individual project construction schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from tender award to completion.
  • Support Estimating & Scheduling activities.
  • Overall management of site crew(s).
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including progress billings.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the projects to ensure safe and efficient results.
  • Address operational challenges and implement solutions.
  • Ensure budgets and forecasts updates are completed on time and accurately.
  • Support hiring of construction personnel.
  • Manage employee / subcontractor related records.
  • Mentor, train and manage performance of direct reports.
  • Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Lead a diverse team to achieve high performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, creativity, and employee engagement.
  • Complete and submit internal & external reports.
  • Manage construction budgets and schedules.
  • Preparation of Change Orders.
  • Maintain detailed project records.
  • Collaborate with the project team and sub-contractors, and,
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical trade certification with 5 or more years of related construction experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industrial process piping and structural steel experience is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License, along with a 5-year clean drivers abstract is required.
  • Criminal Records Check is required.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol test may be required.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
  • Strong understanding contract fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of HSE and OH&S requirements.
  • Strong understanding of the construction management process, industry trends, and best practices in welding and piping.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Strong understanding of construction trades and construction techniques.
  • Proven leadership, analytical, planning, and organizing skills.
  • High energy level, ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office suite applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain mutual comfort level while relating to a diverse workforce.
