As a key member of this dynamic head office group, this role will work strategically with all lines of business while supporting the Director, Finance as a key leader and contributor to the innovation of the financial reporting and analytical functions. You will lead & mentor two professional direct reports and help them grow and excel in their careers, and assist them with mentoring their respective teams.

The scope of this role is wide. With ultimate responsibility for financial reporting, you will also be involved in budgeting, cash flow planning for investment decision making, the annual audit and act as a trusted advisor to the business. You are a critical thinker who thrives on contributing to financial transformation, and performing data analysis to support metrics and KPI's.   • A Canadian CPA designation
  • 3+ years of post designation experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a financial reporting role leading a team
  • Experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller/ Senior Accounting Manager ready for the next step
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices, CPA Handbook Part lll, and ASNFP. Deferral accounting experience would be a differentiator
  • Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Power BI, and ERP experience
  • Comfortable communicating with an audience across multiple departments within a company
  • A critical thinker, you are detail oriented, highly adaptable, self-motivated and personable
  • A passionate change agent
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills are required along with a confidence in your presentation skills and business acumen
  • The ability to deal respectfully with all people and situations with honesty and integrity
