Job Summary: Ensure that all machines at Rollstar Metal Forming are maintained and in proper working order


Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Provincial Certification Red Seal 433A required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English with good written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of Mechanical aptitude and complete understanding of Mechanical and Electrical procedures
  • Knowledge of machine rigging procedures
  • Basic knowledge of machining and welding – tig, mig and stick welding
  • Ability to read drawings, blueprints, specifications and manuals
  • Ability to incorporate technical reports
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Skilled in using precision measuring tools and industrial maintenance equipment
  • Possess own tools and toolbox
  • Minimum 1 year experience in similar position, or successfully completing a credited apprenticeship program
  • Able to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful manner

Major Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and diagnose root causes of issues in equipment Perform full diagnostics on equipment and advise Maintenance Supervisor and/or Purchasing Manager of parts required to perform necessary Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Must ensure all paperwork and logs are completed prior to shift end
  • Physically maintain machines and equipment
  • Maintain Preventive Maintenance Schedule
  • Ensure preventative maintenance program are done based on assigned schedules
  • Maintain company tools as required to fulfil duties
  • Trouble shooting of production equipment and record keeping of development and troubleshooting
  • Work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Record and/or report product damage/nonconformities to your supervisor as required
  • Provide training as required
  • Complete routine paperwork as required
  • Support daily production requirements
  • Work on ladders, lifts and scaffolds
