Job Summary

The Logistics Invoice Verification Specialist is responsible for reviewing and validating logistics-related invoices to ensure alignment with contracted rates, agreed terms, and actual service usage. This includes freight charges, storage fees, customs brokerage, courier services, and 3PL billings. The role supports cost control and financial accuracy within the logistics and supply chain function.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify invoices from transportation carriers, customs brokers, couriers, and 3PL providers against contracts, rate agreements, and actual shipping data.
  • Audit freight charges by cross-checking shipment records, weight/dimensions, delivery confirmations, and service levels.
  • Identify overcharges, accessorial fees, or billing discrepancies and communicate findings to internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Collaborate with the procurement, logistics coordination, and accounts payable teams to resolve invoice-related issues.
  • Maintain a tracking system for disputed charges and follow through on credit notes or revised invoices.
  • Support month-end accruals by reporting on pending and validated logistics costs.
  • Assist in the continuous improvement of freight invoice validation processes and cost reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze logistics cost data to support decision-making and supplier evaluations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or accounting is an asset but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in logistics coordination, freight auditing, accounts payable, or supply chain administration.
  • Knowledge of freight terms (Incoterms), rate structures, and carrier invoicing practices is preferred.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • High attention to detail, with a strong ability to identify numerical inconsistencies.
  • Comfortable working with transportation documents (BOLs, PODs, shipping manifests).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP or TMS (Transportation Management Systems).
  • Effective communicator when dealing with vendors and internal teams.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple invoice validations simultaneously.

Work Location: Onsite, with potential for hybrid after 6 months

Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $45,000–$56,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
