About the Role
Their Toronto office is seeking highly motivated Senior Staff Accountants to join the Assurance Group. This is a progressive opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in public accounting.
What You'll Do
- Conduct audits of financial statements in accordance with Canadian auditing standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review working papers, financial statements, and related reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and provide tax planning support for clients.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements for efficiency in audit and accounting procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional service throughout the engagement.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Stay current with industry developments, changes in regulations, and best practices in accounting and auditing.
- Assist in managing project timelines and deliverables to ensure deadlines are met.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, contributing insights and recommendations based on analysis.
- Support management in the development of client relationships and business opportunities.
- 2 to 3 years of Canadian Public Accounting experience, with a CPA designation. Candidates with international designations and relevant auditing experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Caseware, Taxprep, and Excel.
- Strong file documentation skills.
