Hardware Design Engineer

Summary:
Mircom is seeking talented, independent individuals that have previous experience in analog, digital and mixed signal circuit design. The ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate knowledge on a broad range of systems and circuits, including: Power supplies, small signal and power amplifiers, signal processing, microcontroller based systems, FPGA based digital systems, serial communications channels, ADC/DAC converters, EMI/EMC filtering and protection. This is a full time permanent role based out of our Head Office in Vaughan, ON.
Key Responsibilities:- Analyze product requirements and create a detailed hardware architecture and formal structured design.
- Conduct circuit analysis from requirements to formal design.
- Perform simulations to validate design choices.
- Design of electronic circuits using suitable components, systems and equipment.
- Design auxiliary tools, prototypes and test interfaces.
- Circuit debugging and troubleshooting.
- Prepare product operational documentation to support software development.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PHD Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Analog, Digital and Mixed Signal Circuits Analysis and Design experience.
- Embedded Systems.
- DC/DC Power Converters.
- FPGA Design.
- Audio Power Amplifiers.
- A/D and D/A Converters.
- Passive and Active Filters.
- Microprocessors and microcontrollers.
- Serial Communication (UART, SPI, I2C, USB, I2S, Ethernet).
- Schematic Drawing.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet schedule commitments.
- Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills to support work in a team environment.
- Self-started, versatile and eager to learn.
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on PCB Layout knowledge
- Analog circuit simulation
- C programming experience
- VHDL programming
- DFT and DFM techniques
- Experience with Altium Designer, Matlab and PSPICE
