We are hiring 1 Senior Project Engineers to support a diverse range of engineering and design activities, working closely with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do:
As a Project Engineer, you'll spend 80% of your time in the office engaged in design review, drawing analysis, and vendor coordination, and 20% coordinating with the fabrication shop. You will:
Prepare and release shop/work orders, material requisitions, and complete package BOMs
Review and approve PFDs, P&IDs, 3D models (Navisworks), process piping systems, and pressure vessels
Size and select instrumentation and control valves (prior experience preferred but can be trained)
Collaborate with Process Engineers on hydraulic calculations, PSV sizing, and simulations (HYSYS, Aspen)
Liaise with purchasing, design, and manufacturing teams to meet package and code requirements
Review vendor/subcontractor drawings and ensure project deliverables meet code and customer specs
Perform OPPSD analysis and participate in HAZOPs
Contribute to internal reviews to improve quality and delivery performance
Ensure compliance during P&ID walkdowns and support commissioning/start-up (minimal travel)
Must-Have Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Experience in gas processing systems (preferably modular or skid-based packages)
Proficiency in reading and interpreting PFDs, P&IDs, and 3D models
Strong understanding of engineering codes (ASME Section VIII, B31.3)
Comfortable working across engineering disciplines and vendors
Located in or willing to relocate to Calgary, AB
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Experience with HYSYS, Aspen, Navisworks, and Bluebeam
Familiarity with pressure relief sizing and control valve selection
Exposure to packaged systems and modular plant design
Ability to perform hydraulic and flare header calculations
Work Culture & Reporting Structure:
Report to the Manager of Projects
Work independently while collaborating with PMs, Designers, and Process Engineers
No direct supervision required, but ownership of projects is essential
Travel is rare and limited to potential kickoff meetings
