Key Responsibilities:Financial Operations & Oversight
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions including AR/AP, general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting
- Manage all payroll operations in collaboration with internal administrators, ensuring compliance and process accuracy
- Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance on accounting best practices
- Lead the budgeting process, cash flow forecasting, and financial planning
- Analyze and monitor revenue streams, expenses, and margin performance
- Provide the executive team with timely financial data to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure financial controls are robust and scalable to support company growth
- Coordinate external audits and manage year-end preparation
- Ensure full compliance with all financial regulations and internal control standards
- Review and enhance financial policies, procedures, and systems
- Oversee the assessment, selection, and implementation of a new ERP system
- Collaborate with operational leadership to integrate finance systems with other business functions
- Improve automation and data accuracy across financial reporting platforms
- Partner with senior operations leaders to align financial strategies with business goals
- Support cost control, pricing strategy, and vendor negotiation analysis
- Contribute financial insight to support mergers, acquisitions, and expansion planning
Qualifications:
- CPA designation (or equivalent) required
- 7+ years of progressive experience in financial leadership, preferably in mid-sized, service-based or operations-heavy industries
- Proven experience in full-cycle accounting, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting
- Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance, and regulatory reporting
- Demonstrated success managing or implementing ERP systems
- Experience leading finance teams and working cross-functionally
- Knowledge of union payroll or collective agreements is a strong asset
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
