We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Industrial Engineer – Lean Specialist to lead Lean transformation initiatives, optimize production processes, and improve operational efficiency across our reconditioning, detailing, inspection, and repair operations. This role requires deep expertise in facility layout planning, Lean methodologies, and production process engineering. The ideal candidate thrives in cross-functional environments and leverages data to drive strategic and tactical improvements in process performance and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic plans for equipment and workstation placements to minimize unnecessary movement and handling.
  • Lead Lean transformation activities including Kaizen events, Gemba walks, value stream mapping, and 5S audits.
  • Implement and support Lean tools such as Just-in-Time (JIT), Kanban, Standard Work, and visual management.
Collaborate with leadership to build a culture of continuous improvement and waste elimination across departments.
  • Develop, document, and optimize standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key production tasks.
  • Conduct time and motion studies, work sampling, and process simulations to enhance workflow efficiency.
  • Interface closely with technicians and line operators to validate practical improvements and ensure operational alignment.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, takt time, throughput, and rework rate.
  • Lead root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys) to resolve operational challenges.
  • Quantify and report on project benefits including ROI, cost reductions, and efficiency gains.
  • Use statistical and analytical tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, SPC) to evaluate process performance and control.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making by leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Perform trend analysis on process data to proactively identify improvement opportunities.

What We're Looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • PMP or similar project management certification
3+ years of industrial engineering or Lean manufacturing experience in an operational environment.
  • Proven track record of leading successful Lean or Six Sigma projects.
  • Hands-on experience with CAD layout tools and production simulation software.
Strong understanding of Lean principles and practical application in a manufacturing or repair setting.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) for layout and process design.
  • Skilled in using analytical and statistical tools for process improvement.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for leading cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
