POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Manager, the position oversees the shipping and receiving of all products going out of the Huronia Road location. These duties include overseeing and coordinating shipping schedules, obtaining freight quotes, managing freight costs, and updating and communicating through internal systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of High School Diploma.
  • Completion of post – secondary education in business or supply chain, is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience completing shipping function; bills of lading, obtaining freight rates, loading, and unloading trucks, and operating various forklifts within a manufacturing facility.
  • 5+ years of experience on a forklift.
  • Experience working within an ERP system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Problem solving abilities to resolve conflicts and problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain an excellent rapport with suppliers, co-workers, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
  • Health and Safety aware to minimize risk of injury from equipment.
  • Participate in shipping and receiving activities and coordinate all preparation and documentation.
  • Coordinate with the Manufacturing Manager on the production schedule to anticipate and understand what shipments to prepare for.
  • Coordinate and communicate orders to sales and customer service groups, that are moving through the shipping department, via Albarrie's Monday.COM application.
  • Request freight quotes from freight forwarders and provide costs to sales and customer service accordingly.
  • Prepare shipping documentation to ensure seamless delivery to customers, including bill of lading (BOL), packing list, and any other requirements. Communicate with the Import & Export Administrator for all customs documentation.
  • Review, approve and investigate freight charges with freight forwarders as required.
  • Train and mentor other shipping personnel within the department.
  • Responsible for warehouse material handling, inventory management and organization.
  • Operate forklift and working within Albarrie's health and safety policies and practices.
  • Participate with production team on continuous improvement projects, as applicable
