My Vancouver Island based client is currently seeking skilled and motivated Sprinkler Fitter to join their growing Sprinkler Construction Division.
This full-time position focuses on new construction and tenant improvement projects within the commercial and multi-unit residential sectors. Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair a variety of fire protection sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and special hazard systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and product manuals.
- Conduct material and labour take-offs based on scope and site plans.
- Lead or participate in on-site crews, assigning tasks based on competencies and material requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients and site supervisors to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth project execution.
- Order and prepare materials required for daily work orders, optimizing usage and minimizing waste.
- Inspect work in progress and completed installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Promote and adhere to strict safety practices, acting as a leader in jobsite safety.
- Complete accurate daily reports detailing job activities and work completed.
- Train and mentor apprentices and junior field staff.
- Commission, troubleshoot, and maintain fire protection systems, including fire pumps, hydrants, and backflow preventers.
- Valid Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter ticket.
- ASTTBC RFPT endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven experience with the installation and service of sprinkler systems.
- Strong understanding of fire protection codes and best practices.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Fluent in English (verbal and written).
- Availability for a standard 40-hour work week with flexibility for overtime or on-call work as needed.
- Valid BC Driver's License and reliable transportation.
