MacDonald Search Group has been asked by our beverage alcohol client to find a first class Area Sales Manager to join their team in Ontario. The primary responsibility of this role will be to manage both on- and off-premise accounts, grow market share, and execute brand building and distribution programs aligned with company objectives.
Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Manage a territory of retail and on-premise customers to drive distribution, volume, display presence, and menu placements.
- Execute staff training, consumer education, and tasting sessions to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Present business cases to retail and on-premise clients, negotiating within defined budgets to achieve ROI and scorecard objectives.
- Develop strong relationships across urban and rural customers, trade partners, and community influencers to support sustainable brand growth.
- Use sales and CRM tools to track account performance and identify opportunities for volume and portfolio expansion.
- Represent the brand at trade shows, events, and sampling activations to generate awareness and loyalty.
- 1–2 years of industry sales experience, preferably in beverage alcohol or consumer packaged goods.
- Strong knowledge of LCBO, AGCO regulations, and the Ontario market landscape.
- Post-secondary education and solid analytical and computer skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently with brand and expense budgets.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sales reporting tools (e.g., EZ Focus).
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a drive for results.
