Join Us as a Network Controller!

At ORBCOMM, we're looking for a detail-oriented Network Controller to help monitor and maintain our satellite and ground station network. This is your opportunity to play a hands-on role in ensuring the reliability of our global communications services.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

As a key member of the network operations team, you'll monitor ORBCOMM's Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites and global ground systems using industry tools like Grafana, DataDog, and Nagios. Your role is essential to keeping our systems running 24/7 and supporting our mission-critical IoT services.

With an onsite schedule in Sterling, Virginia or Ottawa, Ontario, you'll work in close collaboration with global teams and support personnel to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time.

What You'll Do:

• Monitor IoT service performance using tools such as Grafana, DataDog, and Nagios.
• Detect and resolve Tier 1 anomalies across ORBCOMM's LEO satellite fleet.
• Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of Ground/Earth stations by assisting local personnel remotely.
• Perform basic network testing and resolve connectivity issues across various network devices.

Who You Are:

You're a technically curious problem-solver who thrives in 24/7 environments.. If you have:

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• The ability to work overnight shifts and weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
• General knowledge of Serial Server Appliances, Switches, and Routers.
• Basic troubleshooting skills related to network connectivity.

Nice to Have:

• Experience customizing dashboards in Grafana.
• Ability to write and run queries in PostgreSQL.
• Basic scripting knowledge in TCL or Python.
