Job Title : Payroll Specialist
Location: In Person at Transition Place
Term: Short-Term Contract (4-6 weeks with possibility of extension)
Start Date: Immediately
Reports to: Team Lead Payroll and Finance
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a short-term contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll using Sage 300. Experience with ADP and benefit administration will be considered strong assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time using Sage 300
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Maintain payroll records and employee files in an organized and confidential manner
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits
- Prepare reports related to payroll, remittances, and reconciliations
- Support benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Assist with year-end processes including T4s, ROEs, and audits
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure alignment and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Must have proven experience with Sage 300
- Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience
- Experience with ADP is an asset
- Familiarity with benefit administration considered an advantage
- Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and employment standards
- High attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- PCP Certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is an asset
