GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:The Maintenance Technician works under the direction of our Branch Manager, performing duties related to the maintenance, repair and upkeep of company vehicles and equipment.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Provide routine service, diagnosis, repair, assembly, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, including regularly scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, diagrams and schematics for work procedures.
- Inspects vehicles and equipment to detect deficiencies and damage.
- Ensures vehicles and equipment meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain shop supplies and tools, ensuring all tools and equipment are in safe working condition.
- Track yard/shop inventory and ensure items are inspected after each project.
- Work closely with dispatch to prioritize pre-use inspections on items due for delivery to customers.
- Service calls for emergency repairs.
- Lifting of equipment and tools required, up to 50lbs.
- Act in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation and Practices, complying with company safety policies and procedures.
- Duties may change from time to time and will be assigned by Branch Manager.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License, will be required to supply a clean driver's abstract.
- Current certification in First Aid, H2S Alive, 2015 WHMIS (Titan), TDG (Titan), EGSO (Titan).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Heavy lifting, up to 50lbs required.
- Working knowledge of diesel equipment.
- Demonstrated focus on customer service and a commitment to safety.
- Successful candidates will be subject to a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
- Outdoor environment, including extreme weather conditions.
- Physically demanding, including bending and heavy lifting.
- Exposure to noise, chemicals, fumes, and dust.
- Travel is required when emergency field repairs are required.
