Belvika is currently seeking a Shift Coordinator for its Thornmount facility, located in Scarborough. The Supervisor will be responsible for meeting the production targets, supervision of the staff, and supporting the continuous improvement of the manufacturing operations. The individual must be flexible to work day, afternoon, and night shifts. Current shifts available: Afternoon.

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate and oversee the day-to-day jobs running at the facility;
  • Ensure all Line Leads are accurately recording and entering all lot codes into Nulogy as well as scanning all incoming packaging and bulk to the line;
  • Ensure the correct amount of bulk and packaging material on the production floor to ensure that the line does not stop waiting for materials;
  • Ensure Line Leads are completing all quality checks in accordance with the product specification sheets and BTPL QA standards;
  • Ensure all bulk and/or packaging materials that are brought to the line are recorded on the QA traceability form;
  • Ensure Line Leads are recording all outgoing finished product from the line into Nulogy - making sure that lot codes and quantities are correct;
  • Ensure that Line Leads print a pallet tag for every completed pallet of Finished Product (only once this tag is created can the material handler/forklift driver move the completed product to the staging area);
  • Supervise Line Staff, making sure that there is sufficient labour to meet production requirements;
  • Make sure that the area is always clean and safe;
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Production Supervisors to ensure the flow of production is maintained;
  • Act as a back-up for the Production Supervisor due to vacation and other absences;
  • Train staff on specific job duties, Company health and safety procedures, and Company good manufacturing policies;
  • Ensure production equipment and machinery is running efficiently and effectively and promptly advise Maintenance Mechanics of any repairs, breakdowns, or troubleshooting requirements;
  • Comply with Company strategies and policies when handling paperwork and inventory;
  • Promote a healthy & safe working environment by ensuring safety standards are met;
  • Follow all Company health and safety policies and procedures and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act;
  • All other duties as assigned by the Company.

Education/Work experience requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (College or business degree in Business or Related Courses an asset);
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a production environment (food processing or food packaging environment preferred);
  • Experience using Nulogy, SAP, or other ERP & MRP system is an asset.

Key technical & behavioural competencies:

  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, analytical, and organization skills;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency.
