We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Tax Associate SR&ED to join our growing team. You'll work with a diverse client base and our internal technical experts to prepare robust, audit-ready SR&ED claims that help innovative companies access critical non-dilutive capital.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with client financial and technical teams to build costing models for R&D projects.
- Analyze client operations, technical documentation, and financial records to identify eligible SR&ED activities and expenditures.
- Prepare SR&ED claim support files and technical documentation.
- Use TaxPrep to complete and review tax schedules associated with SR&ED claims.
- Act as a point of contact for CRA and provincial authorities regarding SR&ED filings.
- Support clients during CRA reviews, including RFI preparation and participation in CRA interviews.
- Take on ad hoc assignments and provide cross-functional support as needed.
- Tax and Accounting Expertise: Extensive experience with full-cycle accounting and corporate tax return preparation (T2) for various corporate entities.
- Analytical Thinking: Able to interpret financial statements and develop accurate costing models for companies across varied industries.
- Communication: Clear, professional communicatorboth written and verbalwhen dealing with clients, CRA, and internal teams.

- Demonstrate increasing autonomy in claim preparation, client communication, and CRA defense.
- Contribute to team knowledge sharing and improvement of internal claim processes.
Required Qualifications
- Tax/Accounting Experience: 3+ years in accounting or tax, including T2 return preparation.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, tax, finance, or business.
- Software: Proficient with TaxPrep/iFirm and spreadsheet tools (Excel or Google Sheets).
- Other: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to work with clients, partners, and CRA professionally.
- SR&ED Experience: 12+ years preparing and defending SR&ED claims. Candidates with advanced SR&ED experience will be considered for senior compensation tiers.
- CPA designation
- Experience with other tax software (ProFile, TaxCycle, CanTax, etc.).
