About the Role
Reporting to a senior finance leader, this position plays a key role in overseeing tax filings and managing full-cycle accounting across a variety of structures. You'll be working with complex investments and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure reporting is accurate, compliant, and timely.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and file various tax returns, including individual, corporate, trust, and investment-related forms
- Manage full-cycle accounting activities across multiple entities and structures
- Ensure compliance with tax legislation and accounting standards
- Monitor and interpret the financial performance of investment portfolios
- Work closely with auditors, advisors, and operational teams on reporting and filings
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies
- Support the design of tax strategies that align with organizational objectives
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance reporting accuracy
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation or in the process of completing it (CFE completed is a plus)
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in tax and accounting, ideally from a public practice or corporate finance team
- Familiarity with Canadian tax compliance, including personal and corporate returns
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and investment structures
- Proficient in accounting/tax software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and analytical thinking, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
