Responsibilities:
- As a Purchasing Manager for Food & Equipment, you will sustain active supplier relationships to maintain a reliable source of supply, while building internal customer relationships through working closely with the operations personnel to help meet project requirements.
- Ensure that all items purchased and managed adhere to the policies and procedures of Freshslice.
- Expedites items as required.
- Researches and identifies purchasing opportunities to ensure that the lowest total cost of ownership is achieved for Freshslice.
- Maintains relationships with existing suppliers to ensure that they are committed to supporting our long-term needs.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.
- Able to project in a friendly, open manner and communicate well with management, co-workers, internal customers, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Adaptable to changing environments and rapid pace.
- Able to work well under pressure on several tasks with imposing deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good work ethic, self-motivated, and effectively works independently or within a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Asset to have education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Asset to have experience importing goods from China.
- Fluency in Mandarin is an asset
