Talon Recruiting has partnered with a market leader in innovative equipment solutions in the industrial, heavy equipment, and material handling sectors in search of a Parts Advisor to join their team in Edmonton, AB.
The Parts Advisor is required to maintain an orderly department with parts stored in their proper location for easy access, developing a system to ensure that stock levels are monitored to guarantee the inventory to be just-in-time and consistent with the requirements of the Service and Install Departments. She/he is accountable for the shipping and receiving of the orders, while maintaining a record for all purchases made. The Parts Advisor will act as the company's first-line customer relations representative for all parts needs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers
  • Work with Install Shop employees supplying correct parts/components for new builds
  • Negotiate pricing and purchase product inventory
  • Provide product inventory control as well as put away stock, data entry and cycle counting
  • Purchasing & maintaining inventory on all lines with relation to the Parts Department
  • Determine correct parts numbers and “pick” parts for orders received
  • Arrange for delivery or shipment of parts as required
  • Help maintain orderly parts stock
  • Assist with regular parts inventories and the selection of parts for return under the parts obsolescence program
  • Recommend layout improvements and assist in physical rearrangement of layout

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required with certification in Parts and Warehousing or equivalent an asset
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a parts-related role, preferably in a heavy equipment environment with a strong knowledge of hydraulics
  • Inventory management control, purchasing and any related experience would be a definite asset
  • Ability to use both computer-based and manual parts catalogues
  • Must possess a valid drivers' license
  • Exceptional customer service and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a strong attention to detail
  • Able to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of customers and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Must be proficient with both manual and computerized inventory control
  • Weight handling of up to 60 lbs. required
