About Us:

Wolf Lake Timber Works Inc. specializes in the design, crafting, and installation of custom heavy timber frame structures across Ontario. From our fully equipped workshop in Peterborough to scenic project sites across the province, we build with passion, precision, and pride.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Skilled Carpenter to join our team. This is a dynamic role that combines traditional timber frame craftsmanship with modern framing and roofing techniques. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in our shop and as part of an on-site installation crew, often on the road, helping erect custom timber frame homes, pavilions, and outdoor structures.

Responsibilities:

Fabricate and assemble heavy timber frame components in our shop

Frame conventional and structural walls on job sites

Install steel roofing systems with attention to quality and safety

Read and interpret construction drawings and timber frame shop drawings

Assist with loading and unloading timber and materials

Travel to job sites (transport provided by company) and participate in on-site installations

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Collaborate with other crew members and follow direction from the lead hand or project manager

Qualifications:

2+ years experience in timber framing or carpentry

Strong framing skills, including conventional and structural techniques

Experience installing steel roofing systems

Ability to safely operate hand and power tools

Comfortable working at heights and lifting heavy materials

Valid G license with clean driving record

Willingness to travel for work, including occasional overnight stays

Team-oriented, dependable, and hardworking

First aid, fall protection, or other safety certifications are an asset
