What You Will Do

As a Construction Supervisor, you will provide on-site leadership and support across our commercial construction projects, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You possess extensive experience in commercial construction, outstanding leadership capabilities, and comprehensive knowledge of all phases of the construction process, from foundations to project completion.

Key Responsibilities

● Direct subcontractors and site personnel to ensure adherence to project scope, quality expectations, and schedules.

● Monitor daily operations, providing regular updates to the Project Manager or Superintendent regarding progress, challenges, and delays.

● Uphold rigorous site safety protocols, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and internal standards.

● Perform systematic site inspections, quality checks, and conduct regular safety briefings.

● Coordinate effectively with engineers, inspectors, trades, and suppliers to promote smooth project execution.

● Maintain precise site records, including daily logs, timesheets, safety documentation, and material receipts.

● Assist with schedule management, RFI tracking, change order processes, and deficiency reporting.

● Communicate clearly with stakeholders on project milestones, potential risks, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

● Minimum 5–10 years' experience in commercial construction, including at least 4 years in a supervisory capacity.

● Verified history of leading projects through all phases, from foundation to final handover.

● In-depth understanding of building codes, safety legislation, and commercial construction best practices.

● Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

● Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

● Superior organizational and leadership competencies.

● Experience with construction management tools, digital timekeeping, and standard computer applications.

● Strong communication skills in email, writing, and speaking.

● Have a desire to work within a small management team working with multiple contractors and consultants in a collaborative environment.

● Makes decisions based on experience and thinks creatively.

Desirable Assets

● Experience managing multi-storey commercial or institutional developments.

● Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Project

● Certifications such as First Aid Level 2, WHMIS, and other relevant site safety training.

● Familiarity with software platforms like Contractor Foreman, Procore, Buildertrend, or similar project management systems.

● Experience in quality management.

Working Conditions

● Must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and on active construction sites.

● Capable of lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.

● Standard hours: 40h per week, Monday–Friday
