About the Role

We're looking for a Driver with at least 5 years of experience to join our team and transport equipment to and from the company warehouse to and from our client sites. This position provides a challenging work environment as well as offers you the support you need to do your best. This position also contributes to the overall high-quality customer service.

The hourly rate: $24/hour - $25/hour

Key Activities Include:

• Loading and unloading of trucks
• Proper securing of loads
• Delivery as well as pick-up of equipment from various locations
• Liaise with customers during pick up and drop off
• Pulling orders to be loaded onto truck and delivered to client sites
• Assist in the loading/unloading of equipment from the truck while on-site
• Putting away orders returned to the company warehouse
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of the truck (i.e., cleaning windows of the cab, etc.)
• Planning each route based on road and traffic conditions
• Keep trucks equipped with ratchet straps, protective corners of baskets, and other items required to do with offloading and loading of equipment
• Forklift driving
• Assist with various shop duties when not driving (i.e., housekeeping, equipment repair, maintenance, and general labour)

Requirements, Skills & Abilities Required:

• High school diploma
• Valid G driver's license and a clean driving abstract with no traffic violations
• At least 5 years of safe driving experience with skill in operating tube vans and similar vehicles
• 2 years of experience working in a warehouse setting
• Forklift certification is an asset
• Knowledge of common hand-operated tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
• Rudimentary mathematical skills
• Speaking, Writing and Reading in English
• Experience with lifting heavy equipment and lifting techniques
• Willingness to learn, take on new tasks and grow with the company
• Open and honest and a great communicator when interacting with others
• Great interpersonal communication abilities to provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g., at rush hour)
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Team-oriented with a focus on collaboration across divisional lines
• Service-oriented and focused on delivering high levels of satisfaction for our clients

Working Conditions:

• Monday – Friday, day shift. The occasional weekend/night shift work may be required (incumbent must be flexible to work on weekends)
• Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes, tools, equipment and materials of up to 50 lbs.
