As a Project Engineer, you will lead the design and execution of mechanical systems, focusing primarily on HVAC and plumbing. You will play a key role in all project phases—from field investigations and technical design to construction administration and commissioning. This is a client-facing role that requires strong communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities. You'll also be involved in proposal development and business growth initiatives.Key Responsibilities
- Design and prepare HVAC and plumbing systems, specifications, and technical drawings
- Conduct field surveys and oversee system installation, testing, and commissioning
- Ensure systems meet all regulatory and sustainability standards
- Coordinate designs with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
- Troubleshoot design or performance issues during construction and post-installation
- Prepare technical reports and support documentation
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
- Contribute to proposal writing and business development efforts
- Participate in multidisciplinary project teams
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P.Eng.)
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical (HVAC) design experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in HVAC design software and CAD tools
- In-depth knowledge of current industry codes, standards, and best practices
- Familiarity with municipal and provincial regulatory processes
