Position Overview:
The Territory Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operational functions across Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, with a strong emphasis on service delivery, team leadership, and regulatory compliance. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, this role includes a strategic sales component focused on supporting revenue growth through customer relationship management and market development. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of operational expertise and sales acumen to help drive efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Regional Manager for the area.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Oversight:
  • Manage daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the logistics of propane delivery and distribution, optimizing routes and resources.
  • Collaborate with the service department to ensure timely and efficient customer service.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor operations teams, fostering a winning culture of excellence, engagement, and accountability.
  • Ensure operations team have the training, tools, and support required to effectively serve our customer.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide development opportunities.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor sales performance and operational costs, preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and growth.
Sales Management:
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market presence.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and customer needs.
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Promote a culture of safety within the team and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure employees are trained and competent in their roles. Complete safety audits and inspections to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • University degree or Business Diploma and/or 5+ years progressive experience with a focus in operations management, business accounting, marketing, and sales.
  • Industry knowledge relating to propane or fuel distribution considered an asset
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to handle conflict and de-escalate issues quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven leadership ability while maintaining a pleasant and friendly manner is necessary.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products
