VOLUNTEER POSITIONS AVAILABLE ASUS Equity Workshop Series (AEWS)

The ASUS Equity Workshop Series (AEWS) is committed to educating members of the Queen's and Kingston communities on issues of social justice, equity, accountability, and inclusivity. Through keynote speakers, student-led discussions, and engaging activities, we aim to foster dialogue, deepen understanding, and inspire action toward creating a safer and more respectful social climate.
We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer roles for the 20252026 term (SeptemberApril). All positions require an average commitment of 23 hours per week.
Marketing Team Graphic DesignerDo you love creating engaging visuals and want to showcase your graphic design skills? AEWS is the perfect platform for you.
Design graphics for our social media, newsletter, and events
Collaborate on special designs with event speakers and team members
Help build a cohesive and creative visual identity for AEWS
We're looking for someone who:Can meet deadlines and communicate effectively
Is open to collaboration and feedback
Is creatively ambitious
Has experience with Canva and/or Photoshop (not required but an asset)
Interested in building connections and strengthening community relationships? Join AEWS as our Speaker Outreach Coordinator.
Reach out to potential speakers in the Queen's and Kingston communities
Help curate a diverse and impactful speaker lineup
Maintain communication and scheduling with confirmed speakers
We're looking for someone who:Communicates professionally and follows up consistently
Is comfortable with community outreach and networking
Is adaptable and collaborative
Are you a first-year student eager to get involved in equity-focused initiatives? This is your chance to dive in and learn how ASUS committees operate.
Support the AEWS team in various initiatives and tasks
Participate in planning and executing events
Gain exposure to equity-based work and leadership
We're looking for someone who:Is open-minded, adaptable, and eager to learn
Can communicate clearly and collaborate with the team
Is ready to jump in and help wherever needed
