JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Associate Director, Innovation, the Program Coordinator develops and implements the programmatic activities of Praxis Innovation department. The role is central to the effective coordination of Praxis SCI Accelerate and SCI Incubate programs, engaging internal lead and external mentors to deliver these programs virtually to start-ups and innovators across the globe.
The role acts as a liaison between external and internal key through ongoing business communication, meeting management, event coordination, project tracking and reporting. The research and market focus of the role is around spinal cord injury and related complications. Praxis facilitates the commercialization of research discovery and invention.
This is a 13-month contract position covering a maternity leave. The preferred start date for the position is September Tuesday, September 9th, 2025.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee the coordination of logistics and communications for the SCI Incubate and SCI Accelerate Programs, liaising with program participants (early-stage health technology start-up founders), funders, mentors and funders, in order to expand business opportunities;
- Maintain strong relationships with external and internal collaborators through ongoing business communication and effective meeting management;
- Monitor and assess program progress: tracking milestones & timelines and adjusting plans in alignment with the Manager, Innovation Programs;
- Collaborate with other Praxis departments to achieve common goals by way of project tracking, administrative & financial reporting, and other activities, as required;
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings and events: prepare and deliver presentations to Praxis project teams and external interest holders;
- Identify potential industry partnerships and support research and outreach for program recruitment lead generation, using a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software;
- Write and prepare various types of business reports, including informational and analytical;
- Prepare documentation for reporting evidence to funding agencies (provincial and federal) and create summary documentation for funder reporting requirements; and
- Perform other duties as required by Praxis, within the scope of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Undergraduate degree in business or graduate degree in a related discipline.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience coordinating projects and/or programs in a professional setting; preference for experience coordinating in-person and virtual activities.
- Experience coordinating high profile events or programs with high levels of complexity/planning.
- Experience overseeing administration of programs, particularly in the areas of contract maintenance, financials/budget tracking, within a team or organizational setting.
- Acumen for incorporating project management tools & CRM systems is an asset.
- Experience working with start-up companies or incubators is an asset.

- Strong event, project and/or program management skills.
- Solid business communication skills (verbal and written) and relationship-building skills
- Able to self-manage time and organizational, team & personal priorities.
