Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This role plays an important part in supporting the health and well-being of everyone in our home.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and hallways according to daily and weekly schedules
Disinfect high-touch surfaces and ensure infection prevention protocols are followed
Launder linens and personal items as needed
Safely handle cleaning chemicals and supplies in accordance with WHMIS guidelines
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate department
Work cooperatively with nursing, dietary, and other support services
Treat all residents with respect, dignity, and compassion
Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting
Knowledge of infection control practices and cleaning procedures
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and a positive attitude
Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
Recent Vulnerable Sector Check required
Schedule
- Full-time (10 shifts per two-week pay period)
- 07:00 - 15:00
- every other weekend
- holidays as scheduled
